Live by the Levee! - Riverside Park announces 2010 lineup

The Riverside Park Amphitheater committee is gearing up for another summer concert series for the approaching 2010 installment.

This year’s lineup will include:

May 22: Community Day Picnic (12 p.m. to 6 p.m.); Free hog roast from 12-2, silent auction 12-2, cake walk, kids games 12-4. Hoosier Jazz Buddies 12-1:30, the Clearfork Band 2:15 to 3:00, The Dirty Third Band 4:15 to 5:15.

June 19: Joe Rigney (Local Musician) ; Parrots of the Caribbean (Jimmy Buffett Party/Tribute band) headlining

June 26: RCHS Jazz Combo Band; Indiana’s own 38th Infantry Division Army Band headlining

July 10: K.J. Testin & The Jester Kings (Country/Rock); 7 Bridges Band (The Ultimate Eagles Tribute Band) headlining

July 24: Governor Davis & the Blues Ambassadors (Blues); Skyla Burrell Band headlining

August 14: Brian Wallen (Blue Grass); Mother Grove (Irish Music) headlining

August 28: 650 North (Rock); The Devonshires (Retro-New) headlining

Opening acts begin at 7 p.m. and end at 7:45 p.m. with the headliner beginning at 8:15 p.m. and playing until 10 p.m.

“With this year’s line-up of artists, it will prove to be one of our biggest and best years as of yet,” Board secretary Carla Sharpe said. “As you can tell, we have a variety of acts sure to please everyone!”

Bring your blanket and lawn chair and enjoy an evening of free music at the amphitheater. All concerts are free of charge and free parking and shuttle service is provided. Special considerations are made for handicapped parking.

“This is a good opportunity for your organization/club to make some money,” Sharpe said.

The Rushville Food Pantry will be present at each concert accepting donations of canned food items. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Sponsorships are solicited each year from area businesses and individuals to provide these concerts free of charge. Business and corporate sponsorship levels range from $5,000 to $500 and include signage and advertisement for your business, free vendor space, business or organization name announced at all six concerts and Community Day, as well as published in the Riverside Park program, newspaper and radio.

“Friend of the Park” Sponsorships are also being offered, geared toward patrons of the park, individuals, non-profits and small businesses and consist of sponsorship levels from $100 to $25, which will get your business or organization name announced at all six concerts and Community Day, as well as published in the Riverside Park program, newspaper and radio.
